Your East Africa safari, built around your priorities

A tailor-made safari gives you control over the countries, duration, pace and comfort level. You can begin with one of our sample safari packages and adjust it, or start with a blank page and combine Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar or Burundi.

Gorillas, primates, wildlife and beach combinations

Some travelers come to East Africa primarily for mountain gorillas; others want the Serengeti–Mara migration, chimpanzees, Big Five wildlife or time beside the Indian Ocean. We connect those priorities using realistic road sectors and regional flights. Browse our gorilla trekking safaris, wildlife safaris and Great Migration journeys for ideas.

Accommodation and transport

We can build value-focused, mid-range or luxury versions of the same route. Vehicle choice also matters. Our car hire service includes 4×4 Prado options, safari Land Cruisers, safari vans and private driver-guide arrangements. On selected longer routes we can recommend fly-in sectors to reduce unnecessary road time.

Permits and current park information

Gorilla and chimpanzee permits, park fees and activity availability should be checked for the actual travel dates. Gabba handles the booking logistics after confirmation. Travelers can also use official sources such as the Uganda Wildlife Authority and Visit Rwanda for background information.

Request your proposal

Send your dates, number of travelers, preferred countries, approximate budget and must-do experiences through our contact page. We will shape a clear day-by-day proposal around you.

What can be customized?

Almost every practical part of a private safari can be adjusted: trip length, arrival airport, country combination, lodge level, vehicle type, pace, number of game drives, primate experiences and beach extension. Start with the full safari collection if you want a reference route, or browse our East Africa destination guides if you prefer to build the trip from places rather than packages.

Gorilla trekking and permit-led itineraries

For gorilla-focused journeys, permit availability is one of the first planning checks because it can influence which trekking sector, country and travel sequence makes the most sense. Uganda travelers can review public park information from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, while Rwanda travelers can consult Visit Rwanda. Gabba then works the confirmed permit date into the rest of the route.

Wildlife, migration and multi-country combinations

Longer journeys can connect the primate forests of Uganda and Rwanda with the savannah systems of Kenya and Tanzania. That does not mean every country should be squeezed into one trip. We consider border or flight transitions, wildlife seasonality and the number of rest nights needed so the safari still feels enjoyable. Explore Kenya safaris, Tanzania safaris and Zanzibar holidays for common extensions.

Transport and private vehicle planning

Road-based itineraries can be paired with a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, a pop-up roof safari Land Cruiser, a safari van or a vehicle with driver-guide depending on route and group size. See our East Africa car hire options for the dedicated service.

What to send us for a useful first proposal

The most helpful inquiry includes approximate travel dates, number of adults and children, countries of interest, must-do activities, preferred accommodation level and whether international flights are already booked. With that information, we can prepare a clearer day-by-day route and explain the important inclusions. Use the contact page when you are ready.

Design the Journey Around the Traveler

A tailor-made safari begins with priorities: dates, countries, must-do experiences, accommodation level and a realistic budget. We then compare the driving or flying sequence, identify permit-led activities and decide which destinations deserve more than a single night. You can use the 45 safari packages as reference structures without being limited to them.

Choose the Right Safari Pace

Some travelers enjoy an active route with frequent destination changes; others want longer stays and more time around the lodge. Neither approach is automatically better. We look at the total number of days and protect the experiences that matter most. The Safari Planning Guide explains seasonal choices, accommodation and transport in more detail.

Mix Countries Without Turning the Trip Into a Race

Uganda and Rwanda combine naturally on many gorilla routes. Kenya and Tanzania can form a strong wildlife circuit. Zanzibar can provide a slower ending after road-heavy safari days. The best multi-country plan depends on flight schedules, borders and the total trip length, so we assess the complete route rather than simply joining separate packages together.

Customize Vehicles and Accommodation

Ask for budget, mid-range, luxury or mixed lodge categories, and tell us how important room style, location or special occasions are. Road sections can use an appropriate option from our safari vehicle service, including Prado, safari Land Cruiser, safari van and driver-guide arrangements.

What We Need From You

Approximate travel dates, passenger numbers, countries, activities, accommodation preference and budget are enough for a strong first conversation. Use the detailed inquiry form below and select all destinations and activities that interest you; you do not need to decide the final order first.

How a Sample Package Becomes Your Own Safari

When you send us a package title, we do not assume every detail must stay unchanged. We first identify the parts you want to protect, such as a gorilla trek, a particular national park, a beach ending or a certain number of nights. Then we look at the arrival and departure points, available time and preferred pace. This lets us change lodge categories or transport without weakening the basic route. Browse the destination collection if you want to add a place that is not already in the sample itinerary.

Special Interests and Celebrations

Photography, birding, primates, culture, family travel, anniversaries and honeymoons all change the way a route should be paced. Tell us about those interests before we quote. A photographer may value early starts and longer wildlife sessions; a honeymoon couple may prefer fewer lodge changes; a birder may want a specialist guide or more time in forest and wetland habitats. These details are easier to plan well when they are known from the beginning.

When to Request a Proposal

You can contact Gabba while your international flights are still flexible or after they are booked. If dates are fixed, include the exact arrival and departure information. If dates are flexible, tell us the travel window. For permit-led activities, earlier planning can create more options, although actual availability must always be checked for the requested dates.
